Users can access budgeting tools, connect with locals, find essential recommendations, and secure professional moving and packing services—all in one place for a stress-free move.

Moving to a new place is an experience that occurs frequently.

•On average, 60%-70% of people will move at least once in their lifetime.

•In the United States, studies indicate that the average person moves around 11-12 times throughout their lifetime.

This experience is often linked to negative connotations.

•45%of people f people have stated that moving is more stressful than going through a breakup.

•Almost 50% of people who move report feeling overwhelmed or anxious.

Discovery of Problem Space

Moving is a major event that, while rewarding, can also be highly stressful. It involves numerous considerations before, during, and after the move, such as finding a budget-friendly home, securing good neighbors, hiring reliable movers, and organizing belongings. This website is designed to offer features that help users navigate the process smoothly, reducing stress and simplifying their transition.

Persona

Prioritizing the user and their experience at the core of my design moving forward.

Insights from the interviews provided a deeper understanding of the millennial experience. Using this research, I developed a persona and experience map to guide my designs for the target users and identify key opportunities for my digital solution.

Simplifying the Moving Process with MovearooMoving to a new place can be overwhelming with numerous tasks and decisions to make. From budgeting and finding the right neighborhood to hiring reliable movers and settling in, the entire process can cause significant stress. The goal was to create a seamless experience that would address these pain points and guide users through the entire moving journey.

Develop

After defining my main tasks, I created a task flow to visualize how a user would interact with the product to complete them.

The task flow below illustrates a user searching for moving company to request a quote, creating a profile page, and looking for a neighborhood in designated area, specifically restaurants.

Keeping those flows in mind, I sketched rough layouts for key screens. Drawing inspiration from existing UI components and features found in apps like Facebook message, Pinterest, and Instagram, I explored various design ideas.

Then, I designed refined structures, prioritizing element organization and user interactions. From paper sketches to a digital wireframes, I iterated through several versions of each screen to create the first prototype.

The Brand

I concentrated on choosing components that evoke warmth, ease, and reliability. I used these adjectives to guide my search for inspiration and created a color palette that embodied these qualities. For typography, I selected a font that conveyed the same mood while remaining legible at smaller sizes.

Finally, I crafted an initial version of refined, high-fidelity screens incorporating interactive features to closely mimic the final product. With the Home screen fully developed and all elements in place, I finalized my UI design.
